Win a Limited Edition Pink VW Van and $20K: Giveaway in Partnership with the National Breast Cancer Foundation
April 23, 2026
Some giveaways are about the prize. This one is about something bigger than that.
Vanlife.us is proud to announce Giveaway 8 — and it is our most meaningful one yet. One winner will drive away in a fully restored, custom Bay Window Pink VW Bus, one of just 50 units custom-built worldwide, along with $20,000 in cash. And every single entry supports the National Breast Cancer Foundation, an organization that is actively saving lives right now through early detection, education, and support services for women facing one of the most serious health challenges of our time.
This is van life with a purpose behind it.
Why We Partnered with the National Breast Cancer Foundation
The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) operates under the code that every woman deserves the chance to live her life fully.
Their mission is to provide help and inspire hope to those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education, and support services. They do not wait for awareness months or fundraising seasons. Instead, they show up every day for women who need answers and a community that understands what they are going through.
The numbers behind their work put the mission in sharp context. According to their findings, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. The progress they’ve made is directly tied to doing the consistent, unglamorous work of connecting women to screening and care before a diagnosis becomes a crisis.
Breast cancer death rates have declined 44% since 1989 among US women, progress attributed to improvements in early detection and treatment. That number represents hundreds of thousands of lives. It also represents exactly the kind of work that deserves a community behind it.
Partnering with NBCF for our giveaway feels right and we’re happy we can be part of something so important.
Meet the Pink VW

Let's talk about the van.
The centerpiece of Giveaway 8 is a restored custom Bay Window VW Bus finished in a signature pink that turns heads everywhere it goes. This is one of just 50 units custom-built worldwide, which means the person who wins this van owns something genuinely rare in the van life world.
Here is what comes with it:
Interior Features:
-
New eco-leather and fabric upholstery in two-tone cream and pink — a custom interior that is as visually striking as the exterior, built for comfort on the road.
-
Front seating for three passengers with seatbelts — two separate seats for the driver and one passenger, plus room for a second front passenger.
-
L-shaped sitting area for six passengers with seatbelts — the rear bench folds down to create a full bed, giving you a genuine live-in space wherever you park.
-
Retractable table — a fold-out surface for meals, work, or whatever the moment calls for.
-
Built-in Pop-Up Smart TV with WiFi or cellular connectivity — stream your favorite shows from wherever the road takes you, controllable directly from your phone, with a remote included for full couch-in-the-wild comfort.
-
Multimedia system — a touchscreen with AM/FM radio, Bluetooth, USB charging, a rear camera, and four speakers.
-
Restored speedometer with green LED lighting — a nod to the van's vintage roots, updated with a modern glow.
-
White laminate flooring — clean, durable, and easy to maintain on the road.
-
New stainless steel rearview mirror — a polished finishing detail that reflects the care put into every inch of this build.
Exterior Features:
-
Brand-new 1600cc air-cooled engine — the heart of the van, rebuilt fresh and ready for serious mileage.
-
Original front and rear suspension — preserving the classic ride that makes these vans iconic.
-
Front disc and drum rear brakes — reliable stopping power for peace of mind on any terrain.
-
Manual 4-speed transmission — true to the spirit of the original build.
-
New wheels and new tires — road-ready from day one.
-
Self-activating fire extinguisher ball installed near the engine — a thoughtful safety feature built directly into the build.
-
Seatbelts for all 8 passengers — safety accommodations installed throughout the van.
-
Custom skylights — installed in the roof for panoramic views of your surroundings, whether that is a desert sky full of stars, a canopy of redwoods, or the Pacific coast at golden hour.
-
Rooftop luggage rack with easy-access ladder — full rooftop storage capability with a ladder that makes loading and unloading gear genuinely easy, not an afterthought.
One of only 50 custom-built Pink VW Buses in existence worldwide. The Bay Window body style is one of the most iconic silhouettes in van culture, and this build honors that history with a custom finish that makes a bold statement about what this giveaway stands for.
And then there is the $20,000 in cash that comes with it. For van lifers, that number means something specific: a full build-out, a year of fuel and campsites, and a financial runway to actually live the life the van represents.

What the NBCF Does with Your Support
Every entry supports an organization with a track record that earns real confidence.
For almost two decades, the NBCF has received the highest ratings from premier charity evaluators nationwide, with on average more than 80% of spending directed to life-saving programs. They hold top ratings from Charity Navigator, Candid, and Great Nonprofits. That's the kind of track record that tells you donations actually reach the people who need them.
The programs that support runs directly into include:
-
National Mammography Program: Connecting women who cannot afford mammograms to free screening services, because early detection only works if it is accessible to everyone, not just those with the right insurance
-
Patient Navigator Program: Guiding women through the overwhelming complexity of a breast cancer diagnosis, connecting them to local resources and making sure they do not navigate the process alone
-
HOPE Kit Program: Sending comfort packages to women currently undergoing breast cancer treatment, delivering practical and emotional support during one of the hardest experiences a person can face
-
Metastatic Breast Cancer Retreats: Creating space for women living with metastatic breast cancer to connect, rest, and find community with others who understand their specific experience
-
Breast Cancer Support Groups: Building ongoing community for survivors and those in treatment, because the social and emotional dimensions of a cancer journey matter as much as the medical ones
-
Breast Health Education: Reaching women with clear, accessible information about self-exams, risk factors, and when to see a doctor — education that consistently makes the difference between a diagnosis caught early and one caught too late

Why This Giveaway Matters Beyond the Prize
The van life community has always carried a spirit of generosity. People share campsites, knowledge, tools, and meals with strangers on the road without thinking twice about it. That culture of openness and looking out for each other is one of the best things about this lifestyle.
Giveaway 8 is an extension of that spirit into something larger. You enter for the chance to win a one-of-a-kind van and life-changing cash. In doing so, you stand behind women who are fighting for access to the kind of early detection that can mean the difference between a survivable diagnosis and one that comes too late.
The van life world is full of people who believe that life is worth protecting, worth showing up for, worth hitting the road for. The National Breast Cancer Foundation believes the same thing — that every woman deserves the chance to live her life fully. This partnership is built on that shared conviction.
Enter for the van. Show up for the cause. And share this with everyone in your community who deserves to know about both.
